RED FANG Get Charitable
Over 20 years ago, while a student at Fort Collins High School, Aaron Beam of RED FANG helped stand up for music programs put at risk due to lack of funding. Today, Portland schools are struggling to fully fund art, photography, ceramics and other arts classes. RED FANG is honored to headline this benefit to give Portland students greater access to the arts, and have basic materials like paint, paper, and clay.
This special event "A Benefit For Grant High Art Department" is scheduled to take place Friday May 25th at the Hawthorne Theater in Portland, OR. RED FANG will be headlining the event with support coming from Lopez, Nether Regions and Grant High's own Hell's Parrish. Doors for the show at are 7:00 pm with the first band hitting the stage at 7:30 pm. Tickets can be purchased for the show HERE.
RED FANG's Aaron Beam commented on the state of Grant High's Arts Program:
"It is a shame that Grant High's arts are underfunded, and a bit mysterious to me. Young artists looking for cheap venues to create and display their works move to and revitalize cities and neighborhoods. It happens repeatedly. I watched it happen in Portland in the 1990s, with artist communities such as The Lab and The Modern Zoo, and clubs like the X-Ray."
In other RED FANG tour news the band is currently on a European headlining tour with support coming from label mates BLACK TUSK. The tour runs through May 5th in Essen, Germany. Following those dates, RED FANG will head to Russia and Ukraine for three special shows.
RED FANG will also be taking part in Metallica's inaugural "Orion Music + More Festival" June 23rd in Atlantic City, NJ.
