Sonisphere Canceled
Headliners Queen have posted the following brief message on their official site, the band states: "It is with very heavy hearts and much regret that we announce the cancellation of Sonisphere Knebworth 2012".
The July event, which was due to play host to bands including Kiss, Faith No More and Queen is said to have failed to sell a sell enough tickets for the 2012 event, despite being one of the UK's few remaining true hard rock events.
Tickets for the festival are no longer for sale on the festival website. Sonisphere has become the latest festival to cancel this year. An official statement is expected tomorrow (29 March 2012).
John Probyn, Chief Operating Officer for Live Nation UK, tweeted, "Another one bites the dust...".
