WATAIN Frontman Comments On Tour With BEHEMOTH
Swedish black metal miscreants WATAIN are joining forces with BEHEMOTH (headliners), THE DEVIL'S BLOOD and IN SOLITUDE, for a 26-date North American tour, to launch in April. Frontman Erik Danielsson comments:
“We were originally meant to spend this year in the shadows, focusing inwards and on the new material we have compiled during the years since Lawless Darkness was released. This tour, however, was a bit too good to say no to. It is so seldom these days that someone actually managed to put together a decent tour package. A ‘Clash of the Titans’ indeed! And considering the other bands on the tour, I can just imagine our management and the promotors biting their fingernails in anxiety and horror, waiting for the first arson or murder report from the road. Touring the States is always inspirational; there is always lots of emotion, anger, debauchery, decadence and a general feeling of lawlessness in the air, so I am sure this tour will nourish the writing process to a certain extent as well. A rich and fertile foundation of harsh physical and emotional experience has always played a big role in Watain writing new material, and this tour will for sure contribute to that. We will aim to make it interesting and memorable enough to do so."
