Marilyn Manson and Jonathan Davis Comment On New Music Video Director Stanton LaVey
Stanton LaVey, grandson of Anton (Church of Satan / The Satanic Bible) will soon add “Music Video Director” to his list of accomplishments, visually scarring some of today’s best music.
Stanton, a legend now in his own right, most notably for setting LA ablaze in 2001 when he opened his underground art gallery ODIUM has been the subject of countless articles including front-page features in SPIN & Bizarre magazines. He is featured in the book “Art That Kills” and has an entire chapter dedicated to him in the authorized biography “Charles Manson NOW” titled appropriately “He’s Only The Devil”!
Stanton also produced & filmed the definitively evil 666 (June 6th 2006) headlining Glenn Danzig, Hank III & Alkaline Trio with guest spots by Lamb of God front man Randy Blythe and GG Allins brother Merle from the Murder Junkies.
When asked about Stanton, Marilyn Manson had this to say, “Stanton’s dick is bigger than mine but mine has more diseases.” According to Korn’s Jonathan Davis, "Stanton LaVey is Hollywood’s Great Black Hope!"
Industrial Metal band Society 1 will be LaVey’s first client. Vocalist Lord Zane explains, "When I heard Stanton was going to begin directing, I contacted him immediately and asked if he would be interested in directing a video for me. I wrote a new song entitled ‘Kill Me’ as soon as he agreed that brought me right back to my industrial metal roots. I wanted something visceral and raw that could really capture the sinister aspects of the imagination. During the recording I discussed the lyrical content, and Stanton had some amazing and very offensive ideas. I loved them and knew this would be my most controversial video."
In LaVey’s own words, “Film is the ultimate artistic outlet and the greatest magical device of our age. I want to turn my audience on and scare the shit out of them in equal parts.”
If LaVey handles his duties from the director’s chair in the same fashion he’s handled previous undertakings, all Hell will break loose! Filming will commence February 5th in Los Angeles and a behind the scenes piece will be released shortly after prior to the official video.
