What Is Wrong With The Gauntlet?
I'm sure many of you are asking what is wrong with The Gauntlet today. Last last night, we initiated a domain registrar transfer away from GoDaddy. Early this morning, our DNS host file that handles the website decided to commit suicide. A quick rebuild got most of the site back online. Although something happened with the 'www' host name record and sent it to an Arab site for a few minutes. This was quickly corrected however sever large nameservers are still listing the 'www' as non-existent. There is not much we can do at this point except wait it out as it will correct itself on the next update.
Why did we move our registrar you might ask? GoDaddy is a major supporter of SOPA, the bill that is being backed by the MPAA and RIAA. The Gauntlet along with millions of people that don't want the internet censored are against this. I have always run this site by doing what I believe and practicing what I preach, unlike countless other metal blogs out there that say they are against SOPA yet continue to support GoDaddy.
Sorry for the inconvenience, but if GoDaddy, RIAA and MPAA have their way, many of your favorite sites will be down and never come back.
