Top 5 Best Albums Of 2011

Tired of reading Top 10 lists from bands. I really don't want to know that Max Cavalera's favorite band of 2011 was Oceano. Also, any journalist that does a Top 10 is going to be influenced by outside pressures. So why not have a true metal fan do a Top 10 list. Fans are the ones that actually still pay to get into shows and buy the albums so listen up record labels, the fans want more albums like these:

I've not listened to enough albums I would consider great this year to make a top 10. That, and I'm lazy.

5. Vektor - Outer Isolation

Vektor comes close to matching their previous effort on Black Future, but comes up oh so slightly short. Still a great album.

4. Absu - Abzu

Absu rules, and this is another fine offering from one of the finest USBM bands out there.

3. Skeletonwitch - Forever Abomination

Forever Abomination isn't as great as Beyond the Permafrost, but it's still a fantastic offering to the Witch. Worship the Witch!

2. Trap Them - Darker Handcraft

I had never listened to Trap Them when I threw on this album on the recommendation of a friend. Thus began a confusing journey that left me feeling like I had been trampled by a stampede of bulls. Great album.

1. Negative Plane - Stained Glass Revelation

Amazing album, all the way through. Most black metal bands wish they could pull off this kind of haunting music.

If you haven't listened to any of these albums yet, I highly recommend them all.
