Common Dead Issues Album Update
Post-thrash/melodic death metal artist Common Dead has released the artwork for his forthcoming album, "Diatribe", along with a video containing pre-mastered clips of select songs. The cover portrays a disheveled Common Dead (born Andrew Laurenson), his indelible scar visible from an assault that rendered him legally "deceased" as a child and later inspired his metal alias.
Laurenson comments: “This is the album where Common Dead really comes into its own. There had been some experimenting on previous albums, but this is my most consistent work. The writing is stronger, more opinionated. I’ve refined the screams, detailed the drums, and my main focus as a guitarist has grown substantially.”
An exact release date for “Diatribe” has not yet been announced. In the meantime, listeners can 'Like' the Facebook page at www.facebook.com/commondead to track updates on the album’s availability.
"Diatribe" was recorded in Montreal, Canada as yet another lone wolf effort by Common Dead, following 2011′s “Interim Flesh EP" and 2009's self-titled debut. All instrumentation on recorded efforts thus far has been solely Laurenson, who performs as guitarist/vocalist in live settings. One such display in Los Angeles, California became footage for the music video “Animalism”.
