TESTAMENT Issue Update
San Francisco Bay Area thrash metal veterans TESTAMENT have entered the studio with producer Andy Sneap (ARCH ENEMY, MACHINE HEAD, MEGADETH) to start recording their follow up to 2008's The Formation Of Damnation.
Bassist Greg Christian checks in with an update from the studio: "Eric, Gene, Andy and I have been in the studio jammin' on the new songs since last week and today is the last day of pre-production. Gene starts recording the drum tracks tomorrow. It's coming to be, and it's heavy as shit."
As previously reported, due to an undisclosed serious injury, drummer Paul Bostaph will not be able to participate in the recording of the as yet untitled album. Gene Hoglan (DEATH, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, FEAR FACTORY), who played on Testament's 1997 album Demonic, will be handling drum duties.
Additionally, LAMB OF GOD drummer Chris Adler is scheduled to make a special guest appearance on a couple of bonus tracks.
Bostaph is expected to rejoin Testament for future touring activity. Currently booked dates are as follows:
July
9 - San Manuel Amphitheater - San Bernardino, CA
10 - Shoreline Amphitheatre - Mountain View, CA
24 - Downsview Park - Toronto, ON
August
10 - Circo Volador - Mexico City, Mexico
12 - Quito Fest - Quito, Ecuador
