METALACHI To Rock On Cinco De Mayo

Metalachi Metalachi – The World's First And Only Heavy Metal Mariachi Band Headlines The Roxy for Cinco De Mayo - Thursday May 5th, 2011 in West Hollywood.

Metalachi, the world’s first and only heavy metal mariachi band
Performs for Cinco De Mayo Thursday May 5th at 11:00pm at the world
famous Roxy Theatre in West Hollywood (www.metalachi.com). Roxy
owner, Nic Adler quotes, “Metalachi is one of the most unique and
entertaining shows I have experienced in years and I'm proud to be
bringing this event to the Sunset Strip and the Roxy for Cinco De Mayo.

Metalachi is a music/comedy stage show that seamlessly blends the worlds
of Spinal Tap and Cheech & Chong into an all-out stage spectacle for the
eyes and ears. Metalachi has been performing to sell out crowds in Los
Angeles for just over a year, and have already built a devoted and diverse
fan base comprised of metalheads, hipsters, fashionplates, lowriders,
artwalkers, loft-dwellers, and street urchins alike.

Recently, Metalachi has gained critical acclaim after appearance’s on LA’s
KTLA Morning News Program, and will be featured again on the television
news magazine program ramping up to their Roxy appearance. The group
was recently hired to perform at internationally renowned artist Shepard
Fairy’s March 12 Private Art Show where the group entertained the likes
of Billy Idol, Dave Navarro and Owen Wilson. They are also scheduled
to perform on The Carson Daly morning show on 97.1 AMP FM
(Los Angeles) on the morning of May 5th, 2011

The group is a 5-piece ensemble of classically trained mariachi
musician brothers, that have been fused together with the power of
hard rock. Taking their cues from outrageous stageshows like KISS,
Gwar and Rob Zombie, Metalachi has outrageous costumes, personas and
onstage antics. The band features Vega De La Rockha on vocals,
Maximilian “Dirty” Sanchez on violin, Poncho Rockafeller on guitarron,
Ramon Holiday on guitar, El Cucuy on trumpet and is managed by
mysterious impresario Warren Moscow.

Fans can expect an amazing mix of metal classics and mashups/medleys
including Judas Priest’s “Breaking The Law”, Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ On A
Prayer” and an amazing mashup of Metallica’s “Master of Puppets/
Nothing Else Matters/Scorpions -Winds Of Change”...all played with
traditional mariachi instrumentation. The May 5th event is sponsored by
901 Tequila and The Flying Pig gourmet food truck.

Doors open at 8pm, Metalachi will be supported by The Young Rapscallions,
Vans Defrans, Ratasan and Deathsquad Demongods. Metalachi takes the
stage at 11pm, tickets are $10.00 in advance and $15.00 at the door, and this
is an all ages show. Tickets can be purchased at http://roxy.la/cincodemetal and
The Roxy is at 9009 West Sunset Blvd, West Hollywood CA 90069.
