LORDS OF ACID Sign to Metropolis Records and Sonic Angel
Lords of Acid, the legendary Belgian dance-industrial hybrid fronted by house wizard Praga Khan, have signed with Metropolis Records with their first album in a decade coming this fall. Lords of Acid are part of the new SonicAngel Lektroland label, and are teaming up with Metropolis for the release in the US.
Khan, who is currently touring the U.S., has been working on new music for the last year and is thrilled to partner with Metropolis for the upcoming full-length as well as a forthcoming EP titled Mighty Little Rabbit (August release). "I am extremely happy Lords of Acid are joining Metropolis. They are the premier label in North America for our genre. It was very important to partner with an artist friendly label that connects well with our audience. I look forward to a long and successful relationship."
Lords of Acid formed in 1988 and have released a series of singles and compilations but only four studio albums to date. The album, Voodoo-U, is the group's biggest selling release to date having recently been certified gold (sales in excess of 500,000 copies) in the U.S.
Lords of Acid's remaining SonicAngel tour dates are:
March 23 Tulsa, OK The Marquee
24 Austin, TX Emo's
25 El Paso, TX Club 101
26 Phoenix, AZ The Marquee
Metropolis Records is the largest U.S. label for industrial, power noise and dark ambient music including artists KMFDM, Combichrist, The Birthday Massacre, Angelspit, and Army of The Universe.
SonicAngel is a brand new music platform for emerging talent. On SonicAngel, the model is completely built around the Artists and their Funders (our name for Music Fans who invest in you). Funders invest in emerging talent, which enables them to release their first single or album. But it doesn’t stop here: fans are called to participate in searching for the hottest talents, but also to be part of the entire artist experience.
