Five Finger Death Punch to host "Love Songs For Tough Guys"

This Valentine’s Day weekend, metal stalwarts Five Finger Death Punch will host their 2nd annual Valentine’s Day Program, “Love Songs for Tough Guys.” The program features 5FDP and their favorite hard rock and metal songs that represent Valentine’s Day from a guy’s perspective, or as the band calls it, “Forced Enthusiasm Day.”

5FDP explain why they created the special: “Behind every successful man, there’s a woman rolling her eyes- and no matter how tough you think you are, if on this cheesy holiday you decide to neglect the ladies (even if she says she doesn't care) you will pay for it later... and pay dearly.” The band advises, “So make that reservation and take her to that damn restaurant. However, the niceties must have a limit. While you're driving to that restaurant you are still not going to listen to her Lady Gaga CD- or you might as well shave your testicles too. So, we made this compilation for you as a survivable compromise: Love Songs For Tough Guys."

The Valentine’s Day Special, which will feature music from Stone Sour, Deftones, Ozzy Osbourne and more, was aired last year on over 45 stations nationally. This year’s brand new special already looks as though it will surpass last year’s number, with stations such as WMMR in Philadelphia, WAAF in Boston, KOMP in Las Vegas and WIIL in Chicago among the many who will be carrying it this year.

"We're very excited to once again be presenting this unique program from one of Rock's brightest artists," said FMQB VP/Operations Michael Parrish. "Love Songs For Tough Guys is now a benchmark event for many of our affiliates that we look forward to providing annually."

HEAVY “MEDAL”

Speaking of Love and Tough Guys- 5FDP guitarist Zoltan Bathory happened to dish out some tough love recently at the Abu Dhabi Pro World Trials Jiu-Jitsu Championship by winning the Silver Medal in his division. Zoltan has already won Metal Hammer’s prestigious Golden God "Best Shredder" Award, but it seems he’s taken to shredding over to the mats, collecting some more shiny hardware as the member of the overall champion team "Team Mica" (Training under Professor Don Charley and Mica Cipili).

Five Finger Death Punch have always been a metal band that threw down hard- but now "throwing down" has a whole new meaning.

Ironically, even though Zoltan took home the Silver, he doesn't have to wait long for some Gold: both of the band’s albums, The Way of the Fist and War Is The Answer are about to be certified RIAA Gold Records.

Five Finger Death Punch have sold over a million albums worldwide since debuting in 2007. Their latest single, “Far From Home” is currently in the Top Five at Active Rock radio- the fourth Top Ten single from their current album, War Is The Answer. 5FDP have been a main stage artist on some of the biggest festivals worldwide, including the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival , Download Festival at Donington Park, UK, and Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park. They have won three Golden Gods Awards; Metal Hammer called their last album “a colossal beast of hard rock brilliance.” 5FDP are currently writing and preparing to enter the studio for their third record.
