Seth Putnam from Anal Cunt discusses growing up

The Gauntlet caught up with Seth Putnam from Anal Cunt today and he opened up about his childhood.

"When I was young" stated Seth, "I wanted to buy Meatloaf's 'Bat Out of Hell' album when it came out. I asked my mom to buy it for me and she wouldn't. That is the one thing I would thank her for doing for me. That album is so fucking awful. I would have been so pissed off it I bought it and listened to it. I just thought the cover was cool."

Seth grew up going to Catholic school for eight years and was a very bright student who eventually skipped a grade. "When I was in Kindergarten, I was already reading and taught a lot of the other kids how to read.
I stopped trying to learn in school around the 3rd grade. I was in the 6th grade at the Catholic school and Father Garafulo called me into his office and told me he was going to skip me a grade and put me in the 7th grade. He coincidentally died of AIDS, big shock there."

When Seth was in grade school some 35 years ago, Catholic School was the real deal with nuns that used corporal punishment as a form of discipline for even minor infractions. "I punched a nun in the stomach once. She used to break pencils and rulers on kids heads. I got into trouble and went up in front of the class and she broke one on my head and I just punched her in the stomach. I never heard the end of that. At least I got to punch a nun so that was cool. I was the envy of class. My parents thought she was a lesbian cunt so they understood."

Fuckin' A will be released on January 11th, 2011, and promises to kick off the New Year with one hell of a bang. The record will be distributed by PATAC RECORDS (USA) and Trendkill Entertainment (Europe), and will first be available on CD (and include a signed copy of the now-infamous "Seth Putnam's heroin blowjob" photo). An expanded vinyl version will be released later this spring, and the band are already plotting North American and European live actions for 2011!
