Mongrel bassist to step down
Mongrel, the female fronted aggressive punk-rock-metal band known as
"the hardest working band in Boston" (Metal Edge) is looking for a new
bassist as Rev, their bassist of the last 5 years, will be stepping
down at the beginning of February. "Rev has been a valued member of
this band and good friend for 5 years now and while we're certainly
disappointed he's not able to continue with the band, we certainly
respect his decision, are on excellent terms with him, and wish him
nothing but the best. Being the class act that he's been throughout
his 5 years in the band, Rev let us know his intent to leave a couple
months ago and still was more than willing to record his parts for our
new full length album" stated band founder Adam Savage.
Recording and mixing for Mongrel's new full length album (due out in
April or May) was completed a couple of weeks ago by Jim Foster
(Nullset, POD, Graveyard BBQ) at White Sight and Sound in Framingham,
MA and will be the follow up to the band's Fall 2010 release, the 6
song "The New Breed of Old School" EP which is available on itunes,
amazon, and http://mongrel.bandcamp.com. Mongrel recently signed on
with manager Damon Moreno at The Inner Light Agency (Destrophy, Hell
Within) and is currently entertaining options for the release of the
new album.
Any bassists looking to audition can contact the band on their myspace
