End of Year Recap - Angela Gossow of Arch Enemy
With the year coming to a close, The Gauntlet has contacted some of our favorite bands to recap their year and let us know whats in store for 2011. Angela Gossow has checked in with us.
Did you have any ‘Spinal Tap’ moments this year?
I am always stoned, so my life is one great spinal tap moment. I like to laugh about myself and the human condition in general.
What were some of your favorite releases from 2010
Atheist - Jupiter, Behemoth - Evangelia Heretika and Sodom - In War And Pieces.
New Year’s resolution?
Don't change for anything or anybody.
Most memorable metal news item of 2010?
Dio being diagnosed with stomach cancer... And then waiting for Wendy to do some updates on his condition. Hoping, it would be good news and fearing the worst. The worst happened. The biggest voice and even bigger heart of heavy metal died in 2010. Dio will be in our memories forever.
Plans for the holidays?
Being on tour with Arch Enemy. Live is too short not to do anything if instead I can be on the road with my hell-boys.
What’s on your ipod?
All the good shit in metal, death, thrash and grind.. And then some episodes of Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm and a few documentaries.
If you could bring back one musician from the grave for a day, who and why?
Ronnie James Dio. To give him the biggest outdoor stage there is, in front of the largest metal crowd this world can pull off. He would have deserved to get into the Guinness Book Of Records by playing the ultimate show. He lived for the stage and the music. As far as I am concerned, he should have been bigger than Ozzy, Kiss and Metallica combined. At least for one day.. total heavy metal resurrection.
