Bonnaroo announces pre-sale and dates
Superfly Productions and A.C. Entertainment are proud to announce the dates for the tenth annual Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival. Confirmed to take place June 9 - 12, 2011, the four-day festival will once again be held at the same beautiful, 700-acre farm in Manchester, Tennessee, 60 miles southeast of Nashville. Special, limited ticket pre-sales for the festival will begin on November 26, 2010, the day after Thanksgiving, and will be available while supplies last via www.bonnaroo.com. Once again, the festival will also offer VIP tickets and a special payment plan for the pre-sale.
As with every year, festival organizers look at the previous year's event and work diligently on making operations smoother and the festival even more exciting and enticing. From music programming to the multitude of entertainment options, Bonnaroo's 10th year promises to live up to its legendary reputation as, in the words of USA Today, "the godfather of American rock festivals," and once again build on its past achievements and create another weekend that will live forever in the hearts and minds of its incomparably dedicated fan base who hold this as one of life's rites of passage. Fader magazine said that Bonnaroo "feels like the beginning of summer."
In 2010, Bonnaroo continued its long-history of making a strong impact on the American music industry. Rolling Stone hailed, "In its ninth year, Bonnaroo has done an impressive job of hanging on to its reputation as one of the most eclectic music and arts festivals," while the Wall Street Journal called it "one of rock's best festivals," and MTV claimed, "If you're in the State and angling for a road trip - there's no better destination."
The NY Times noted in its review of the 2010 event that "over the years, Bonnaroo has served as a kind of training ground for bands to return to again and again, to ever-bigger crowds," and in fact the festival has served as a launching pad for such popular artists as Kings of Leon, Norah Jones, Jack Johnson, My Morning Jacket, Ray Lamontagne, Matisyahu, Robert Randolph and many others. A creative and cultural mega-success, Bonnaroo has also featured a staggeringly diverse range of world-class acts such as Bob Dylan, Metallica, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Stevie Wonder, Neil Young, Radiohead, Jay-Z, Phish, Willie Nelson, The Police, Pearl Jam, David Byrne, Tom Petty, Tool, Wilco, The Dave Matthews Band, James Brown, The White Stripes, Al Green, Nine Inch Nails, The Dead, Regina Spektor, Widespread Panic, Death Cab For Cutie, Elvis Costello, Ornette Coleman, Amadou and Mariam, Beck, TV on the Radio, Against Me!, Merle Haggard, The Black Crowes, Phoenix, Alison Krauss and Robert Plant, Bright Eyes, Bonnie Raitt, Steve Earle, Jurassic 5, Modest Mouse, The Mars Volta, Common, Burning Spear, the Flaming Lips, among many others.
The festival is also starting to make quite an impact on the comedy industry as well, as it has featured some of today's best comedians working today. From Conan O'Brien and Chris Rock to Zach Galifianakis and Jimmy Fallon, to Lewis Black, Flight of the Concords, David Cross, Fred Armisen to, Triumph The Insult Comic Dog, Jim Norton, Patton Oswalt, Louis CK, Janeane Garofalo, Aziz Ansari, John Oliver and Brian Posehn, Bonnaroo is now considered to be an essential play for every comedian both established and on the rise.
