Behemoth's Nergal finds a bone marrow match
Polish metallers BEHEMOTH have issued the following update (translated from Polish) from frontman Adam "Nergal" Darski, who has been suffering with leukemia:
"Hello. Still from my hospital bed, but really in pretty good shape I am writing to inform you about my health and the further stages of treatment.
At the moment I am on the fourth and final chemistry and more than 3 month stay in hospital. All the treatments went like a storm though not without some serious "holes". Thus, I close this stage of medications and will soon begin radiation, and then, waiting for my bone marrow.
Yes, yes, we have a donor !:-)))
After months of searching, the foundation has found the person whose genotype is identical with mine. It would be difficult to achieve if they did not support a large number of people.
First of all, I must express my great admiration for my wonderful and devoted fiancee, Dorothy. Despite the adversity, the public comments, often small and pitiful, became the head to help me and many others. Your help is appreciated. Thank you and I love you.
On behalf of myself and all the patients, I would like to thank everyone who signed up for the bone bank, regardless of place of origin, color or creed. All over the world took the charity concerts, people from industry, bands and fans primarily involved in the action with total dedication. You're great! Thanks to one of you can be my transplant but remember that your attitude can save many others in need therefore appeal: do not stop! March continues to victory! Horns Up!"
