Warped Tour officials comment on death of concertgoer
As the Vans Warped Tour awaits a complete report from the Bonner Springs law enforcement and medical examiner on the passing of a concertgoer at yesterday's (August 2) show in Bonner Springs, KS, the tour would like to offer their thoughts and prayers to the young man's family and friends. Tour organizers are working closely with Capitol Federal Park @ Sandstone staff and local officials to determine the actual facts surrounding this tragic incident and will make further details known as they become available.
Reports are surfacing via various social networking sites that a 26-year-old Vans Warped Tour attendee died at the Bonner City, Kansas, stop yesterday, August 2nd. The details are very limited, but rumors have been circulating to link the death to dehydration.
Through the Vans Warped Tour Twitter account, organizers of the event claim to not know the details yet, but if the death was due to dehydration, the tour is not responsible for the rather extortionate water prices charged by the individual venues. As well, they state "we change venue rules to allow you to bring it in with you."
The organizers go on to call the tragedy "unforseeable" and to claim that "we are all upset and shocked and our hearts are heavy."
