Chevelle Celebrates 10 Successful Years in Music with

After 10 successful years in music, multi-platinum, Epic Records recording artist Chevelle kicks off their "Ten in 10" anniversary celebration as look back at the bands top ten greatest hits, over the past 10 years which include The Red, Send The Pain Below, Closure, Vitamin R, The Clincher, Well Enough Alone, I Get It, The Fad, Jars and Letters From A Thief. In an effort to give back to the fans that made it all possible, the band will perform two nights at the Metro in Chicago on Oct. 28 and 29th, the venue where they got their start a decade ago.

"After more than 10 years of writing and releasing records, we thought "what better place to come back to than the place where we were first inspired," said Chevelle. "We saw our first real rock show at the Metro is 1988 and we thought it would be amazing to mark this point in our career with a show there."

Joining Shinedown on the road for shows across N. America, the band will not only be celebrating but promoting the third single Shameful Metaphors from their current album. The Chicago trio has supplanted themselves as one of rocks most unique, successful and relevant alternative post grunge bands of the decade, and is taking 2010 to celebrate with their fans.

To kick off the "Ten in 10" celebration, fans will have the opportunity to upload personalized video messages for the band on the newly created "Happy Anniversary" section of www.chevelleinc.com. The most inventive fan message will win a signed guitar from the band making it the ultimate memorabilia. VEVO, the web's leading premium music video and entertainment service, is also celebrating Chevelle's success by featuring their music as a premiere playlist as well as all "Ten in 10" videos throughout the summer. The VEVO platform includes VEVO.com, VEVO on YouTube and syndication partners like AOL and CBS Interactive Music Group's sites.

Since their major label debut with Wonder What's Next, which was certified Platinum by the RIAA, Chevelle's sound has offered a distinct uniqueness that is not often found in commercial or mainstream music. The album featured hits like "The Red", "Send the Pain Below" and "Closure," peaking at #14 on Billboard's Top 200 list. "The Red" reached #3 on Hot Mainstream Rock Charts while "Send the Pain Below" and "Closure" both reached #1 on mainstream and modern rock charts. Chevelle went on to co-headline Ozzfest after their first major label release and later did a European tour with Audioslave as well in support of the album.

The band's sophomore album This Type of Thinking (Could Do Us In), debuted at #8 on Billboard's Top 200. The first single off the album was "Vitamin R (Leading Us Along)" which reached #1 on the Hot Mainstream Rock Chart while "The Clincher" reached #3 and was also featured on the Madden NFL 2005 soundtrack.

In 2006 Chevelle recorded their fourth studio album Vena Sera which debuted at #12 on the Billboard 200 and had three top 10 singles, first with "Well Enough Alone" that peaked at #4 on the Hot Mainstream Rock Chart. "I Get It" was their second single released that also peaked at #4, and Chevelle's third hit single was "The Fad" which peaked at #13 on the Hot Mainstream Rock Chart.

Chevelle's most recent release Sci-fi Crimes debuted at #6 on Billboards Rock Chart, the highest entry on the charts for the band. "Sci-fi Crimes" has already produced two top 10 singles in "Jars" and "Letter From a Thief". "Jars" peaked on the Hot Mainstream Rock Charts at #2 while "Letter From a Thief" peaked at #5.

Over the past 10 years, Chevelle has had a very successful career producing 10 Top 10 singles, 2 Top 10 albums, remaining a staple in the rock scene. The Chicago trio has taken rock music to another level that with its dark, ominous lyrics and unique sound combined with its rich overtones makes a statement all in its own that is hard to ignore and separates them from the rest of the modern rock scene. "Ten in 10" celebrates all of the bands accomplishments and is a look back on their successes while continuing to move forward towards a bright musical future.
