RIKETS "System of the Meats" Meat Blog

Apparently Scott over in the Rikets camp feared The Gauntlet was going soft with our Raw Vegan Food blog hosted by Pandie Suicide. We didn't want everyone thinking we are all about granola and organic raw goji cacoa bites so let me introduce to you, The Meat Blog hosted by Scott from the Rikets who are currently touring with Mary Magdalan and Blue Felix on the System of Freaks tour.


So today we arrived in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and with RIKETS on the "System of Freaks Tour" it's BBQ chicken on the menu.

As soon as our trailer deck hit the bricks, I spotted a friend of ours "BOOMER" sporting her circa 2006 Rikets tour t-shirt and a fire Juggling first timer in tow. I walked up to Boomer and asked...where's the grocery store cause were gonna BBQ some damn chicken son! She proceeded to offer quickly "get in our car and lets go find some meat!" A quick run around the freeway system in Tulsa's spider web of freeway exits and entrance's and we stumbled upon a grocery known as "Reaser's". Chicken FOUND people.

Why chicken today? well for one, its very affordable for a band on tour,and two you can get a lot and feed a army. Problem solved.

A quick jump back to the marquee and today's menu has appeared in raw form to a mouth open "weber" gold edition grill son!

Needless to say, Michael slopped up a bitchin' sauce for 'em right there in the alley, threw on the seasoning and went to work.

Through the evening I think we stunk up half the block with these bad boys. As they slow roasted the fire juggler friend put on a show for our friends in the alley and anyone that wanted to stop in and watch got fed some really good chicken.

We got to make some really cool new friends that night as well as hung out with our friends in Tulsa we had not seen since the last Rikets Tulsa tour date two years prior, so we all had a blast for sure.

Served up with the chicken were toasted french bread rolls.
