Metallica issue update

Metallica (2008) METALLICA have issued the following update:

"What a week! Bad news/good news... bummer is that La Rinconada is still under construction preparing for the Softball World Championship. The good news... we'll be playing right next door at Campos de beisbol de la Rincodada! So literally 70 meters away, we'll be set up to rock Caracas this Friday, March 12th.

It goes without saying that your tickets to La Rinconada will be honored at the new location and when we last checked, there are a few left for sale. Get 'em here.

According to Camilla Pease-Watkin from Colombiareports.com, security measures are set to be as heavy as the music, when Metallica take to the stage in Bogota's Simon Bolivar park this evening (March 10th).

Some 1,500 police will be employed to stand guard at the site during Metallica's concert, as well as four tanks and several police trucks, reported El Espectador.

Authorities will also be closing the streets surrounding the park and restricting entry of under-14s, pregnant women, those under the influence of alcohol or drugs and those carrying potential weapons.

The Los Angeles rock behemoths have arrived in the Colombian capital, along with 70 tons of speakers, lights and screens - everything necessary for a spectacular show.

The show will form part of Metallica's world tour to promote their new album Death Magnetic and promises to be one of the best shows of the year in Colombia's concert calendar.
