The Sword announces U.S. tour dates
Metallic rock titans THE SWORD have announced January, 2010 U.S. tour dates. The headlining run will launch on January 23 in Corpus Christi, TX. The celebrated quartet will preview brand new songs from its as-yet-untitled third record over the course of the short tour. A full listing of upcoming THE SWORD tour dates follows this message.
THE SWORD has completed the writing process for its highly anticipated new album and follow up to 2008's Gods of the Earth. THE SWORD's new songs are said to feature a more direct and diverse take on the unit's dynamic, power-driven sound in addition to "otherworldly / sci-fi" lyrical themes. The band will enter an Austin, TX studio in February to commence recording.
THE SWORD has taken the music world by storm in the time since the release of its debut album Age of Winters (2006), gaining widespread acclaim for its aggressive sound, mountaintop-friendly hooks and lyrical themes rife with myth and mythology. The band's sophomore album Gods of the Earth was released in 2008 to a landslide of both fan and critical acclaim and the band supported the record by touring the globe with Metallica on its "Death Magnetic" world tour. THE SWORD song "The Black River" is featured on the wildly popular video game Guitar Hero: Metallica and the band's track "Celestial Crown" appears on the soundtrack to the movie "Jennifer's Body".
