Mongrel Parts Ways with Screaming Ferret Wreckords

Mongrel Massachusetts based punk-rock-metal band MONGREL has recently parted ways with their label Screaming Ferret Wreckords. The split from the label was amicable after it was decided that band and the label were looking to go in different directions. Mongrel is now a free agent and is currently exploring options for the release of their upcoming full length cd "This Means War", still slated for release in the spring of 2010. Mongrel guitarist Adam Savage had this to say about the split, "We have nothing bad to say about our relationship with the label and it was out of mutual respect for what each of us wanted to do that we decided to go our separate ways. We are very excited about the new possibilities this brings up and look forward to getting the next album out in the spring."

Mongrel's latest release is the 5 song "Revenge" EP which was released on Halloween 2009 on Screaming Ferret Wreckords / Immolation Records. Reviews of the new EP have been overwhelmingly positive and the EP itself is available on i-tunes, amazon, shockhound, and at http://mongrel.bandcamp.com where it is available for "name your own price" downloads. Mongrel's first full length album "Fear, Lies, & Propaganda" was re-released in April 2008 by Screaming Ferret Wreckords / Locomotive Records.

Mongrel had a busy 2009, including a northeast US tour with punk legends FEAR, playing with KORN, and spending a good portion of the year in the studio working on the "Revenge" EP and upcoming album "This Means War". The band will wrap up the year with a couple of home area shows, December 9th at the Middle East (Downstairs) in Cambridge MA supporting Psychostick, and December 12th for an all ages matinee at Tammany Hall in Worcester, MA.
