Silenoz posts Halloween playlist
Halloween and rock n' roll were made for each other. Though the holiday has been celebrated in America since the 1840s (and its roots go all the way back to the ancient Gaelic festival of Samhain), it took the advent of the rock era to produce music that sufficiently matched the scariest night of the year for darkness, freakiness and sheer sugared-up fun.
So rather than making our own mixes for our ShockHound Halloween party, we thought we'd go straight to the experts — the folks who actually make the music — and ask them to compile the ultimate soundtrack for All Hallow's Eve. Some of 'em were even kind enough to provide commentary with their song choices, so read on to find out which tunes really light up their jack-o-lanterns!"
Silenoz, guitarist and songwriter for the Norwegian symphonic black metal band DIMMU BORGIR was among the participants in this feature, in addition to Alice Cooper, Nergal of Behemoth, and Frank Mullen & Mike Smith of SUFFOCATION.
