Bret Michaels solo shows in doubt following injury
Bret Michaels' Tony Awards injury has thrown his upcoming tour dates into jeopardy after he fractured his nose and split his lip in a stage accident on Sunday.
The Poison frontman was exiting the stage after performing with the cast of Broadway musical "Rock of Ages," when he was knocked off his feet by a descending piece of the set.
The incident at the New York ceremony left him nursing a bloody nose and cut lip, and the injuries may force Michaels to reschedule his forthcoming solo shows.
His representative Joann Mignano tells People.com, "He may have to cancel his next show - we'll see. Bret is a tough son of a bitch, but he's really banged up."
But she insists the rocker is not angry about the stage mishap and only has good memories from the event: "He told me, 'All I remember is Shrek and the donkey helping me up, and Liza (Minnelli) giving me a towel.'
"And Bret was laughing when he heard (Tony Awards host) Neil Patrick Harris said he gave new meaning to 'headbanging.'
"Bret did not walk off the stage angry or in a hissy fit. He was honored to be asked to participate and be amongst Broadway royalty, like Liza and Elton (John). He did the red carpet, and he was taking pictures with Angela Lansbury backstage. He was so happy to be there."
