Slipknot Notches First Active Rock No. 1 With Dead Memories
Grammy Award-winning hard rock act Slipknot just wrapped another hugely successful headline tour across the U.S. and continue to rack up accolades for their fourth album, All Hope is Gone. The current single, "Dead Memories," has just landed at the #1 position on R&R's Active Rock chart. This is the first #1 radio single of their career, which follows up their first #1 on the Billboard Top 200 Sales chart in August of last year. The video is also the most played at Fuse this week.
Additionally, Slipknot was recently awarded with an EMMA Award for Best International Act. The EMMAs are the Finnish equivalent of the Grammys.
Vocalist Corey Taylor will be DJing at the first Revolver Golden God Awards, to be held on April 7 in Los Angeles. Other members of Slipknot will also be in attendance at the event. The band will make a headlining appearance at Rock on the Range in Columbus, OH in May and will then head to Canada for a series of dates as part of their massive, "All Hope is Gone" World Tour. The band will spend their summer headlining major music festivals in Europe, including Download, Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park.
2009 also represents the tenth anniversary of the band's debut, the multi-platinum Slipknot.
