My Ruin's Tairrie B weds Mick Murphy
Scream queen Tairrie B and guitarist Mick Murphy of the Los Angeles based hard rock band MY RUIN have tied the knot and rang in the New Year with style. The longtime couple exchanged vows in a private ceremony which took place on Christmas Eve deep in the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee close to Micks hometown of Knoxville.
Mick & Tairrie have been together going on 9 years and have released 6 albums with MY RUIN including the full length & DVD 'Throat Full of Heart' & 'Alive on the Other Side' [live album + DVD] which came out in 2008 on the couple's own imprint label Rovena Recordings via Cargo Records UK & Redeye USA.
'After being together for so many years, we felt it was time to make it official and we made the decision to get married when we went home for the holidays in December following our 'ReligiosiTour' which took place in the U.K. this past October'. said Mick.
Our wedding was about as UN-Hollywood as it gets except for the fact that the bride wore black and walked down the aisle to Led Zeppelin's 'Whole Lotta Love'. We had to add a little rock & roll to the ceremony" said Tairrie B who although no longer 'Miss B', plans on keeping her name professionally after taking Micks last name legally.
Tairrie & Mick are currently in the studio recording the follow up to their 2006 release 'Death Has Become Her' from the duos spoken word side project known as THE LVRS. The couple plan to release the album 'Lady Speaks The Bruise' later this year on their Rovena Recordings label and have posted a new song on the bands my space page titled 'The Darkwood' to give listeners a taste of things to come. To check out the recent blog posted on My Ruins myspace page along with wedding photos and a slideshow video.
