Society 1 frontman, Matt Zane recaps 2008 for The Gauntlet

Society 1 frontman, Matt Zane has responded to The Gauntlet with his 2008 recap.

1. Did you have any ʽSpinal Tapʼ moments this year?

Zane - My band was booked to open for a professional wreslting show. Before we were paid I was asked to have some slight participation in one of the matches. So before our closing set I walked one of the wrestlers in to the ring and choked his opponent on the ropes. I must have really needed the money that month.

2. What were some of your favorite releases from 2008?

Zane - Definitly NIN The Slip.

3. New Yearʼs resolution?

Zane - To finish my band's new record. This has to be the year we get that thing done.

4. Plans for the holidays?

Zane - Getting the fuck out of LA.


5. Whatʼs on your ipod?

Zane - The show Lost Season 4. The complete season.

6. What was the craziest fan you encountered? What made him/her so crazy?

Zane - No one that crazy this year but I did meet a girl at an after party that let me finger her at the bar in front of everyone. Then she brought in some corner and jerked me off. After I came all over her hand we walked around and she touched guys faces and put her fingers in there mouth acting like she was coming on to them. That was fun.

7. If you could bring back one musician from the grave for a day, who and why?

Zane- Jim Morrison. I would love one night to really understand what was going on in his head.


Society 1 is currently in the studio tracking guitars for it's upcoming album, Sadist Messiah.
