Unearth announces world tour
Influential heavy metal quintet UNEARTH has announced 2009 world tour dates in support of its celebrated new album, The March.
On January 9, 2009 UNEARTH will launch a North American headlining tour. Wasting no time starting the New Year right, the band will bring its explosive live show to 19 cities over the course of the scheduled three week trek. Dubbed, "F#%& School, F#%& Work, Let's Rage!", the tour will feature support from Emmure, Impending Doom, and Born of Osiris.
On February 11, UNEARTH will join forces with peers Lamb of God and Dimmu Borgir for the "Defenders Of The Faith 2" UK tour. Tickets are on sale now for the Metal Hammer-sponsored expedition, which will touch down in London, Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester and Glasgow.
Upon the completion of the UK tour, UNEARTH will travel to Australia to perform as one of the featured acts of the 2009 Soundwave Festival. The festival, which originated in Perth, Western Australia and began traveling to other state capitals in 2007, features a hand-picked array of both International and Australian music acts, from various genres and will see UNEARTH perform alongside Nine Inch Nails, Alice in Chains, The Dillinger Escape Plan and more. Immediately following the Australian live dates, UNEARTH will head to Japan with both Lamb of God and In Flames for a string of live performances on March 4, 5 and 6. On the topic of the forthcoming tours, UNEARTH front man Trevor Phipps commented, "With the release of our new record "The March" we are now primed to get back on the road and bring our traveling party around the world again. UNEARTH's new album The March is in stores now and has met to rousing fan and critical acclaim in the time since its October release. The band appears on the cover of Outburn magazine's latest issue, which is on stands now. UNEARTH's new music video – for the barnstorming track "My Will Be Done" – has also been posted online at this location. The clip was directed by Dave Brodsky of MyGoodEye who has helmed recent videos for Pig Destroyer, Soilent Green and Kylesa amongst others.
In addition to Phipps, UNEARTH features guitarists Buz McGrath and Ken Susi, bassist John Maggard and drummer Derek Kerswill.
