Cocaine Energy drinks looking for unsigned bands
Redux Beverages and its popular energy drink, Cocaine, today announced that it is hosting a major new online band competition "Cocaine Rocks" on the energy drink's social website http://drinkcocaine.ning.com/.
The competition is an online contest where up-and-coming bands can upload their three (3) best songs, along with band photos and information to the site and have members of the Cocaine Energy drink social site vote for the top band with the winner receiving great prizes including a chance to tour with a major rock band, an opportunity to record at Temple Studios in Los Angeles and more.
Bands can begin submitting their songs today and beginning on January 1st, 2009 through February 28th, 2009, registered members of the Cocaine Social Network will be given the opportunity to vote for their favorite band. Redux Beverages will then announce the top ten (10) voted bands on their website as the Contest semi-finalists.
Each Semi-finalist will be judged by a panel of music industry experts. Semi-finalists will be judged according to the following equally weighted factors: Creativity, Originality, Quality of Work, and Overall Composition. During the judging period, from March 1, 2009 until March 15th, 2009, Redux Beverages will feature the semi-finalists on the Cocaine website and MySpace. The Grand Prize Winner will be announced on March 20th, 2009.
"There is a tremendous amount of undiscovered musical talent out there that deserves to be experienced and discovered," said Raymond Herrera, Partner and Vice President of Worldwide Marketing for Redux Beverages. "We know it is difficult for up and coming bands to find a way to get visibility so this is a great opportunity to offer them a chance to record in a state of the art recording studio, tour with a major band, win prizes and gain new fans."
The Grand Prize winner will receive a recording contract from XonXon Media and an all-expense paid trip to record at Temple Studios, LLC in Los Angeles, CA (owned by Raymond Herrera of Fear Factory/Arkaea and B-Real of Cypress Hill) as well as free gear and music equipment and a chance to tour with a world famous rock band (soon to be announced). Each entrant for the contest will also receive a free T-shirt. For more information on the contest and rules visit http://drinkcocaine.ning.com/
"The internet is a great way to get music out to new fans and we are excited to partner with XonXon and Temple Studios to support and foster young talent that might not otherwise be discovered," said Hannah Kirby, CEO of Redux Beverages. "Through our globally active social site, this contest will expose new bands to hundreds of thousands of fans of Cocaine Energy."
