THEOKTONY Recruit New Guitarist, Begin Work On New Album
Up-start British blasters THEOKTONY released their debut album, I, through Shane Embury (Napalm Death) and Mick Kenney's (Anaal Nathrakh) FETO Records on February 25th, 2008 but have wasted no time in getting back to work. The band has announced that, as they continue playing shows, they are also hard at work on the follow-up to I. They have also added guitarist James Walford (ex-Deadweight, Sentinent Cluster) to their ranks.
Guitarist Liam Millward comments: "We would like to welcome our good friend James Walford, formerly of label mates DEADWEIGHT and currently part of SENTIENT CLUSTER on guitar duties. Jay will begin playing live with us on October 31st, the Halloween bash at the Giffard in Wolverhampton. Come down and show your support!!! We are also in the process of writing a new album which promises to be darker, faster, heavier and more uncomfortable to listen to than ever before! More new shows will be announced soon so be sure to come out to a gig in your area Cheers!!!"
THEOKTONY's debut album, I, was released to a strong response from critics and fans alike, being touted as "a punishing journey into the heart of extremity that manages to push boundaries without pulling any punches" by Terrorizer and receiving 4 out of 5 K's from Kerrang.
