Metallica Releases "Death Magnetic" a Day Early in the UK
Metallica's new album Death Magnetic has gone on sale in the UK ahead of its planned release.
The metal band's hotly anticipated 12th album was due out on Friday Sept 12. Retailers have claimed that the bands UK label, Vertigo, has told them to put the album on sale a day early due to being leaked online. The Gauntlet believes the album has been put on sale early due to stiff sales competition in the region, not the album being leaked. Metallica's 12th studio album is facing stiff competition from Scotlands Glasvegas for the #1 Billboard spot who are big in the region. If the moved up release date was due to the internet leak, why wouldn't the album be moved up worldwide? The internet leak was a worldwide event, not limited to the UK.
