The Gauntlet speaks to NOLA legend Jim Bower
The Gauntlet spoke with JIM BOWER (Eyehategod, Down, C.O.C.) on Friday afternoon about the jailing of MIKE "IX" WILLIAMS, where Bower officially revealed to The Gauntlet that Williams's arrest was drug related. Bower also spoke about the upcoming DOWN record, the resurrection of CLEARLIGHT and the effects of Hurricane Katrina on the New Orleans metal scene. Readers can view the interview in its entirety Saturday evening on The Gauntlet at 9:00 PM EDT.
EYEHATEGOD will be releasing a two disc live set in the coming weeks to help raise funds for William's release.
The Gauntlet: What are the circumstances of Mike's jailing?
Jim Bower: "He is basically incarcerated on a narcotics charge...and he was on probation when he got busted... It just really sucks because he's in a small town, he's got a high bail, he was on probation and it looks like it's going to be fifteen to twenty thousand dollars to get this resolved."
The Gauntlet will be undertaking a massive initiative to assist in the cause to raise funds for Williams Monday October 17th. The initiative will continue until the vocalist is released.
