KATAKLYSM Frontman Checks In From 'Summer Slaughter' Tour
Vocalist Maurizio Iacono of the Canadian death metallers KATAKLYSM has issued the following update:
"Well, we are in the second week of the Summer Slaughter tour (our first tour supporting [the latest KATAKLYSM album] 'Prevail') and it's been absolutely great from organization to all the bands hanging out. I think it's the first time that I've seen so many bands hang out and bond each night; it's a good thing to see!! For KATAKLYSM, all I have to say is that the fans have shown us nothing but respect and have carried us through the whole thing so far — loud, violent and on fire. After eight mind-blowing bands, you never know how much energy the crowd has left and too see these reactions is just amazing to me. We feel triumphant on this tour and I'm also surprised how many people already know all the new stuff from 'Prevail'. A big thank you to all of you. And for those of haven't come out to see it, if you have the chance to come to this show, do yourself a favor and come out and experience this slab of brutality."
KATAKLYSM's new album, "Prevail", has registered the following first-week chart positions:
Germany #38
Austria: #44
Switzerland: #83
As previously reported, "Prevail" sold 2,250 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The CD, which was mixed at AudioHammer Studios in Orlando, Florida with producer Jason Suecof, features guest solo appearances by Pat O'Brien (CANNIBAL CORPSE), Dave Linsk (OVERKILL) and producer and guitar shredder Jason Suecof himself. "Prevail" also includes a bonus DVD with a full performance recorded from a live Internet concert stream at DeepRockDrive studios in Las Vegas, NV on December 3, 2007.
